Windows 7: Windows 7 SP1 (Service Pack 1) won,t install properly and crash

Windows 7 SP1 (Service Pack 1) won,t install properly and crash

I recently formatted my Acer 5542G laptop, and changed its OS from Windows 7 x64 Professional to Ultimate. I did this because my laptop started running super slow when it booted and after. I installed the Ultimate and I had no problems so far. Windows did the updates as usual, but when it started installing Service Pack 1, that's where I started having some problems with it. It downloads the SP1, and when I restart the PC, it starts to configure the update, this will start working normal and it freezes somewhere at 15% for 5 minutes then it continues, and suddenly while configurating the PC stops, and it reboots. It shows the Acer booting screen, then it asks me If I want a system repair, or a Normal Start-up, when I choose the second option, it starts the Windows 7 booting animation, as soon as the 4 lights appear and get a little bit together, the computer freezes, it quickly shows me Blue Screen of Death(Which I can't read because I have automatically reboot machine after start-up failure, If it helps I can check for it) and it restarts the computer. I have fixed it by restoring. I did this installation like 5 times not and it has failed every single time. I even tried downloading and installing SP1 manually but it still fails. Can I do something about it or just switch back to Windows 7 Professional?

Thank you for reading, if you are able to help me, I would be very thankful. Have a good day :)

There is no difference between Professional and Ultimate in terms of performance - they are exactly the same OS. So use the Professional license you already own for the life of that machine to do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Use the official installation media with SP1 provided in Steps 1 and 2 and not a pre-SP1 installer. Follow the steps and stick with the tools and methods and you will have a perfect install to the exact extent you do.

Service Pack 1 will not install on windows 7.
Service pack 1 refuses to install on my pc giving me the error "Code 80073701". I think this may be due to the language packs after reading up on solutions. I think this because when i ran "lpksetup.exe" the only language pack installed "English(English)" has a yellow warning triangle next to it....
