    Ok thanks.
He doesn't know how to do anything so every time he needs my help I'd like to make this as easy as possible. He will use his lappy for a bit. It'll get dog slow and he'll have issues. Then he'll want me to fix everything. So a restore disc or something would make things so much easier and faster for me.

What am I looking for from post 18? I don't know what you want me to get.

What do you mean make an image and put it on a secondary partition?

Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

It would be wise to get the recovery discs from Asus, you`d have to contact them for availability and price.

Can you post a shot of disk management from the laptop ?

What I would do is Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
and then follow the step to create a Win7 backup image to use in place of future reinstalls if the PC becomes irreparable. You can put his data in a separate partition linked to C so that reimaging C doesn't touch the data which is safe and separated into its own vault (but which also needs backing up against possible disk failure).

If he is getting infected with malware, adware or spyware then consider adding to MSE AV protection the Malwarebytes Real Time protection for $29 for life, which has stopped chronic infection cold for many of those I help as none have gotten reinfected even the real Typhoid Harry's.

I think this is the one you need:

    en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332.iso

    Unlock all editions with:
    eicfg_removal_utility.zip
