Were you getting error code 0x80070570 cannot find files at various stages of the install when it expanded files? Or a total freeze up?

If it was the former try the easy solution:

Thanks for answering the questions.

Which version of Win7 are you trying to install?
32bit or 64bit?
You said you are trying to do a clean install. Do you have the Full Retail version or an Upgrade version?
Both can be used to clean install with.

I couldn't find anything on your motherboard, can you check the model number?
i975x is your chipset.
The below program will tell you everything about your computer.
Download this program SIW - System Information for Windows
Click 'motherboard' under 'Hardware', the information will be there.

The most common cause to this issue is bad burn on the DVD and/or hardware.

What speed was the last DVD burned at?

You might want to consider using a USB memory key, we've seen a lot of success from this. You will need a minimum 4GB USB key.

There is a great Seven Forums tutorial on how to do this: Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. This will rule out the bad DVD burn.

Have you updated the BIOS?
Check this and update if you find a newer version.

Now for the hardware.

Win7 64bit (assuming this is what your trying to install) is very particular about RAM. Take out all RAM except for one card, 1GB is more than enough to install Win7 with, you can put the other cards back in after the installation is complete.
If this and the other suggestions don't allow the installation to complete you will need to switch the RAM card, still using only one, and put into another slot.

Dis-connect all peripherals, leave only monitor, keyboard and mouse.
If you have on board graphics you may need to remove the graphics card. Also, some people have had success connecting with a VGA cable.

Try this and let us know the results.
