It looks like a UEFI install since there is a EFI System partition and no other System Active boot partition which would indicate a legacy install. It would have had to have the drive converted to MBR format to install Legacy anyway which requires wiping everything off of it.

It should have configured a Dual Boot with Windows 8, so if you want to do that yourself now you can install EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required) to add Windows 8 to a Dual Boot menu. If you can afford the space I'd probably leave Windows 8 on there in case you want to play with it.

Otherwise if you want to delete Windows 8 save a Backup image of Windows 7 (if inclined) using an EFI supported app like Imaging with free Macrium. Then boot free Partition Wizard boot CD, right clik Windows 8 partition to delete, click OK, then rightclick on C to Resize, drag the left border all the way up against the EFI System partition, resize right border if you want, click OK, then Apply.
