Need Key Recovery OR find a Specific version of Win7 . Please help.

    IMPOSSIBLE PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST

Hello guys I need your help badly.
I work on computers and I need to reinstall Win7 on to my PC(Acer Aspire 7551G-5407 ).... Theres one problem though- the product key on the bottom is partly torn, so I dont have all the numbers. I tried using a Key Finder to find my key (Used Magic Jelly Bean) and it told me some stuff....
    Code:
Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
    Product Part No.: X15-37374
    Installed from 'OEM' media.
Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00006 match to CD Key data
CD Key: Not shown for people who steel Windows
    Computer Name: USER-PC
    Registered Owner: User
    Registered Organization:
So theres two things I want (one or the other)

    • A Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 X15-37374 ISO
    • a KeyFinder that can find my computer Windows 7 Home Premium. (Since my computer is currently set as shown above with Win7 Ultimate)

    Thanks!

Unless you have already done a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then the key which can be audited by a key finder is not the Product Key on the COA sticker but instead a batch key used at the factory to mass activate which can't be used to activate a Clean Reinstall.

So your choices are either to make your Recovery media, order it online or from the OEM Tech Support, back up to reinstall the SLP Activation file which is not supported here so would have to be researched on your own, or use a retail Win7 license key to activate with.

What are the exact problems you have with the laptop now?

You might start working through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to go over it thoroughly, optimize it and see if it can be made to run better.

If not then I'd try running Acer Recovery after making Recovery Disks as a backup method in case it fails during Recovery from partition.

What key is it that Belarc would audit from his factory install?

The cheapest method is to contact Acer and request the recovery disc/discs.

Start here: Acer | Contact Acer

Greg, could he install a Win iso from heidoc.net with his VLK then use phone activation to make it legal?

He hasn't mentioned a VLK but said his COA stickers is worn which would indicate he has Factory OEM.

He also hasn't told us what the results of trying to run Factory Recovery are? If Win7 will still boot he can make his Recovery disks as a secondary method to have on hand in case running Recovery from its partition fails.

If these are not an option or fail then ordering Recovery Disks would be the next thing to consider.

    Please perform the following:

    1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:

It would be in the Software License section [mine edited], as mentioned it may not be the same as on the sticker:
    Microsoft - Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)00000-948-0740872-85000 (Key: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx)

It should be noted that the OEMs use a Master HDD for each model and clone other HDDs as needed/ordered which will explain why one doesn't usually have to enter the Product Key during setup. A number of the OEMs have the setup key already entered [but never shown], probably part of the licensing from Microsoft, and may already be activated.
