cant get windows 7 pro to open a command prompt

I bought computer that I do not know password. I dont want to reinstall windows. I read that restarting computer and press f8 and choose safe mode with command prompt. Problem is my computer loads the drivers as normal on the black DOS screen but when it gets done and is suppose to give a command prompt it does not. It for some reason goes to the unwanted log in screen in safe mode. But that does me no good because that screen again requires password. How do I get the stupid command prompt in the scenario?

What do you hope to accomplish from Command Prompt? If you want to use the hidden Administrator account to change the password or create a new userid then see here:

User Account Password - Change from WinRE

You can get a legal copy of Windows 7 here: Windows 7 Direct Download Links

If the system is not encrypted, you can use CD from which you can run Linux (from CD itself) and then a few commands to change the password of admin account. Just google on how to change Win password using Linux or something similar and you should get it.

I cant get to command prompt to type in the admin info that fixes so it doesnt ask for password. The link you sent me to also requires password so I am still in same problem.

No, the link I sent you tells you to boot the Windows 7 install DVD or flash drive to do what you need to do. No login via existing account needed. I know it works as I've used it.

You're best bet is to do a Clean Install of Windows 7, even though that is not something you want to do.

Contact the seller to ask them the password.

Look on the COA sticker on bottom of PC. You're entitled to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 using the licensed version of WIn7 provided in Step 1 of tutorial. This is a better option than dealing with someone else's passworded junk you bought. The tutorial will give you the opportunity to do a perfect install and how to keep it that way.
