    After 64-Bit Upgrade double-clicking won't work

I just "upgraded" my Windows 7 Pro system to 64-bit. Everything seems to be working fine, and my software is functioning OK.

My one small problem is that when I double click on a desktop icon, instead if this running the appropriate programme, it opens my Windows Explorer substitute (Directory Opus). It isn't a fault with the icon or link, as if I right click on the same icon and choose "Open", the programme runs normally.

I miss double clicking - how do I get it back?

    Try this:

Type "double" into the start button search box.

You should see a link to "specify single or double click to open".

Or Folder options in the Control Panel.

Personally, I always switch to single click, double clicking is just annoying and I see no reason for it.

Thanks for these suggestions - unfortunately they don't relate to what happens with desktop icons, as both are concerned with folder options.

Double clicking was already selected, and worked when I clicked on a programme's "exe" file.

What doesn't work is double clicking on a desktop icon, which I find very odd indeed.
