    Windows 7 installation failed

I just got my windows 7 upgrade set in the mail and went to install it immediately. I put in the cd and got through the first steps. When it started to copy my files and such in the beginning of the first steps of the installation it rebooted after a while .. But after that i got no picture on the screen. It was all black. The sound from the computer sounded like it was working but hours later - still no picture. So i rebooted manually but still no difference. Took out the cd and rebooted but still no picture. Now i cant see the login screen but i hear it come there.. so i enter my password (without seeing anything) and then i get in. But what i see then is a windows vista background but no icons or nothing is there! i can insert the cd and hear it pop-up on the screen but cant see it. So im stuck here and cant continue the installation since i dont see anything.. ive tried to insert the cd and then press enter to get done with the installation with no success. Any ideas for a solution?

cant do nothing at this point

Sounds like a video card resolution problem. Can you boot into Safe Mode ?

Hmm no, i cant configure or choose any option at all on the boot since i think the computer sint finding any problems.. Its like the computers working but all i get is a picture after ive logged in.. I dont see the login page but its working in the same way as usual.
Feels like something went wrong in the installation where the look has changed but not yet the system.. Thats why theres an error between the system and the look .. or something, not the brightest computer guy =)

It sound's like a graphic's card problem, try going in safe mode, when i put my windows 7 on my pc, i installed it whilst xp was on, it's better installing it that way, so when i had xp on i put the win 7 cd in and installed, i didnt do it from boot-up, it's strange that your screen's blank, it's most likely your graphic's card, i bet if you upgraded the card you wouldnt get the screen trouble, good luck with it.

But i KNOW that thats where i am.. so i type in my pw and it logs in. then i get a new win7 "background" and i HEAR my computer login on msn and such and people are writing to me in msn etc. But ALL i see is that friggin background .. On boot up, keep tapping the F5 or F8 key too see if you can get a menu to go into Safe Mode !
