    i have downloaded windows 7 -64 bit and i would like to install them to a brand new pc. But when i try to do that my dvd-wr cannot read the windows 7-dvd. On the other hand when i tried to install windows xp to the new pc, my dvd-wr read the windows xp cd and the procedure of installation started normally.

    Where did you download them from & in what format is the file extension ?

    .exe, .iso, Other type ????

    Did you download the ISO from Technet or MSDN, or Torrent?

    If you did not get it from MSDN or Technet, you must purchase a DVD from somewhere.

    I recommend Newegg.com, Windows 7: Shop, Buy, Download, Upgrade, Search for Current or New PC, or Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more

    And i'd suggest a speed of about 4X as it sounds like many i've tried to install at too fast a speed :)
