So would that mean i just go and do step 2? The thing is i did all the other steps already 3, 4, 5. I didn't do step 1 b/c theres no program called that in uninstall programs. I didnt do step 2 b/c it seems like you basically just changing the webpage and not removing trovi...
Okay so i went and downloaded vlc player this time from filehippo.com and it shows an error when i load the file. When i go and download openoffice again... same issue. Is there a reason for this? I think the reason is b/c i did the system restore earlier where it removed these programs along with winamp where i downloaded from cnetdownload.
Now when i download programs again... i can't even open the files...
Also i went to download winrar but not using cnetdownload and using another site like filehippo. Downloaded it but it doesn't even open and has error.
Okay i got vlc player to download.
However, when doing the installing, do you have any specific tips so i won't download any malware?
Example it ask what files you want to associate with and i want to do it all but theres a lot other things that are checked as well but not sure which i shouldn't check.
You can just leave it at defaults.
Later if it opens anything you want WMP to open instead, then go to Control Panel>Default Programs, select Windows Media Player, set as Default. Then WMP will open everything it can, while whatever it can't open will be opened by VLC.
This may not solve the issue where Iphone videos and pictures play sideways unless you also install Quick Time Player, leave it at defaults (i.e. don't change anything).

So after following the link u gave me, that should have deleted the trovi right? Also the adwcleaner step... there seems to be a problem. When i first click scan, it does scan. But after it scans... it says pending........
I waited like 1 hour and i didn't see anything. so i then i just clicked clean and then i had some messages then it restarted my computer. Is there how its suppose to be after i click scan?

Im using the desktop xps 8100 the one that i did the clean reinstall. How come it says i have 26 days left to activate? Isn't my windows already activated? Not sure what that message means when i clicked on some settings.

So i only download this file
eicfg_removal_utility.zip and put it into usb drive via the Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool like i did with the 3.1gb file earlier.
So i would put the usb drive in after i start up my computer and click on it and run it like that right? I want to make sure im not suppose to already have it plugged in my desktop before i restart and have to press the f12 thing.
The thing is when i click on the windows 7 usb dvd download tool and click browse, i can't put the eicfg removal utility.zip there. Do i need to extract the winrar file first?
Or do i just have to drag this file to my usb drive and then just extract it and open it on the desktop.
