    Windows 7 Installer not loading

I now am trying to wipe my partition reformat and install windows 7 again. However, I accidently reset my BIOS to their default settings. Now when I boot from the Windows 7 install disk the disk loads the files, then gives me the 4 windows lights and say "windows is starting." However, I then am displayed with a blank version of the windows login background (with the blue and the bird). I can move the mouse, but no installer pops up. What do I do? Help!

This is all i can think of at the minute as you said bios caused this,if you didnt say that i would have told you to re-burn the cd at a lower speed.

Restart>go into BIOS>advanced bios settings (its is on my bios, may be different for you.)Look for boot sequence, set Hard disk as 2 and cd rom as 1.

Restart with cd in the cd drive.
    Let the files load.
    Click install now.
    Custom.
Click the partition you want to install on (needs at least 20gb just to install, give it at least 80- 100GB if your keeping this as your main OS).
    Click Format.
    Install

    Should do a fresh install.

Sometimes the installer stalls after boot up or between screens. I have two of seven machines here that do that consistently. Give it a little more time to load.

Do they have a second HDD?

One member here had a problem like that, even after installation,it would take him 3minutes+ to load up with the 2nd HDD installed while 30-40seconds without

No. The worst one is an old laptop, the other one is an older Gateway. After testing hardware, I just wrote it off to age since they eventually installed and work fine.

I finally got it to reinstall. the problem was just impatience I suppose. It took about an hour before the installer finally popped up. Thank you all for advice.

It is a good idea anyway for you to run a Windows Memory Diagnostic Test and a HDD diagnostic surface scan.

The GW Scan 5.12 bootable (Data Lifeguard) for Western Digital diagnoses and repairs any problems and works on most HDD's, although your HDD maker might have something more specfiic.
