    Win7 Ult sp1 install error, missing manifests


    Hello,

    I've pasted the checkSUR log info from my Dell XPS420 after recently trying to update my Win 7 Ult x64 install to SP1. All other updates install fine, but SP1 does not. I get error 80073712.

    The log seems to indicate that there are 4 manifest files that are either or corrupt. I've been trying to find fresh copies of the files.

    I've been trying to find the 4 missing manifest files, but I've been unsuccessful.

    I've been trying to fix my problem using the following guidelines, but the listed files are no where to be found. I checked on the install DVD by going through the mounting procedure listed in the guidelines but the files weren't listed. I also checked Windows.old to see if the files were in there and they weren't. Unfortunately I don't know of another computer that is running Win 7 Ult x64 in order to see if the files are available.     Any help or further direction that you can provide in order for me to fix the problem, find the manifest files, etc... would be totally helpful.

    Try running SFC /SCANNOW Command.

    It may require running several times until any corrupt files are fully repaired. Then try SP1 install again.

    If that fails try Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 including reset Windows Update components and System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 7.
