Sucess all working great - thanks for all your help. A quick question though, I have reinstalled all my ram totalling 5.50gb and in Vista it showed this. In Win 7 it shoes the 5.50gb but states in brackets that 3.50gb useable. Does this mean that I may as well remove the other ram cards if they are not being used, and how come Win 7 wont use all the RAM?

32 bit operating systems cannot use more than 3.5 GB of RAM. If you want to use all of your RAM, you must switch to a 64 bit OS.

Glad to hear you got it installed.

Surprised that 32bit Vista would say that, 32bit OS will only be able to use 3.3 to 3.5 GB of RAM. The 32bit OS addressing is 4GB and other hardware uses it also, RAM gets whats leftover.

If you want to use all the RAM you'll need to install the 64bit version.

Just run it for a while and see if you notice any difference.
