Windows 7 recovery problem using System Repair Disk

Hi, I recently corrupted my Windows data on my HP Probook 4445s when I was trying to dual-boot Ubuntu. I accidentally formatted a partition after which I am unable to start Windows.

I created a System Repair Disk from my other laptop which has the exact same OS (win 7 64 pro, sp1) and after it showed that the disk was successfully burned, I tried booting with it in my HP laptop.

However, even after changing BIOS settings to boot from CD/DVD I am unable to get it working as no matter which options I try, I get the following error message:

"Bootmgr missing. Press Ctrl+alt+delete to restart"

Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the disc you created is not bootable, the data cannot be burned to the disc by normal methods, instead you need to use software to create a bootable installation media
Follow step 1 of this tutorial to create a bootable disc or pen drive Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

I created only a recovery disc not a full installation disc. It does work because I tested it in another pc but it seems unable to repair my broken os.

I am now downloading the 3.1gb iso file. hope it will work.
