installing windows 7 gives strange problem

Hello everybody. This Dutchy is going crazy. My problem is the following:

I try to install windows 7 64bit on my pc. It starts installing fine, but when im at the finishing mode of installing(i think its the end). I get the following message. ( i didnt get to selecting area, time and filling out my key)

attempt to reset the display driver and recover from time out failed. stop: 0x00000116 (0xFFFFFA8005F914E0, 0xFFFFFF880047026C), 0X000000000000, 0x0000000000002).

I dont know if i got the last 2 series of numbers correct. I cant start windows 7 in safe mode, i only get the messeage that windows 7 is going to install further ( nothing happens by the way, waited 30 min). Or i get the same message.

Is there anyone who can translate this into something i can understand? Thank you so much.

Search the forum. There is a way by hitting a special key on the keyboard or something similar to disable video driver installation while installing Windows.

This will help you succeed with Windows installation when you start over and try again.

Or alternatively, remove video card from system and use integrated video on motherboard to install Windows. Place video card back in after Windows is installed and machine is off. Then boot to Windows and install driver for it.

Nothing worked so far. I have used my D-sub connection and DVI. With them connected, i have the sme problem. I have disconnected my graphics card, same. I tried to install my graphics card drivers, i get the message that W7 cant install them, i used a usb stick, the dvd with the win7 x64 drivers on them, and my xternal hard drive. The only thing i get now i get a prompt in the upper left corner of my screen. The screen itself is black. Then nothing happens. Just installed xp again to write this message. Hope you can help me again. thx..

Try installing latest bios update first.

Use a different monitor too, to try, if you have one available like from another pc. Disable onboard integrated video in bios after update. Leave video card in machine installed.

If you follow these steps, Windows will install well for you.

when i go to my BIOS i go to:

onboard device confi => Primary Display adapter => then i have 3 choices pci slot
onchip VGA
PCIEX ( thats where its on now)

Or do you mean something else. Im an average computer user, so my knowledge has its limits .

That's something different. You want to try to look for a setting that completely disables onchip VGA.

Primary display adapter should be PCI-e.

Set plug and play OS to yes or on.

i updated my bios. And set play os to yes. but i cant find no function wich can disables my onboard vga chip set. Is there naything else i can do?
