    Dont want to reformat


    hey guys i dont to reformat my disk. I wonder how to do that while im installing windows 7

    I have WIndows vista sp2
      My Computer

    you can install Windows to the same partition Vista is on, as long as there is enough free space.

    Vista will be moved to a folder named Windows.old

    Providing you're installing x86 to x86 or x64 to x64 then choose the upgrade option once you've started the installer. That way there's no need to format your hard drive.

    You always have to choose Format to get a formatted install, and it is only available when booting from the installer and choosing Custom> Advanced Tools, which also lets you delete partition(s), create new one(s) and then format, or just format over existing partitions. But you have to actively choose it.
