UEFI Fresh Windows 7 Install Issues *SOLVED*
I am trying to instal Windows 7 Ultimate on a 4T HDD using UEFI. My HDD is already GPT it had 3 partitions 1 set at 150g another set at 750g and the other set at 2xxxg. The 750g and the 2xxxg both have data stored on their partitions, so I don't want to delete them. So, I deleted the first parting that is 150g. Then I clicked on new, Apply (for full size of disk), and OK. It creates a total of 3 partitions out of the 150g of space that there was. So, i now have a 100.0 MB System partition and a 128.0 MB MSR (Reserved) partition and the rest of the 150g was turned into a 3rd partition. This now give me a total of 5 partitions on that drive with the 2 that have saved data on them. I select the 3rd partition (the one that is almost 150g) and I then click Next. It goes through it's first windows install where it expands the windows files. After it is done expanding the files it says that it will restart in 10 sec. All these seems to run like normal (like the normal non EUFI MBR installs do). when it restarts it does NOT go to the next step of finishing the instal where you would pick your username. What it does is 2 different things based on "I have no clue". Some of my attempted instals at this point will take me to a black screen saying that it can not find the boot device. I have verified that it is loading to the proper HD and I still get this saying it cannot find the boot device. On other attempted installs it seems it goes to a windows error recovery screen that says:
windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert you Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next"
3. Click "Repair your Computer"
Other Options:
If power was interupted durring startup, Choose stat windows Normally
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known good configuration
Start windows Normally
I have tired doing the 3 steps it tells you to do but when i click on repair it says the OS is not recognized. This is prob due to the fact the OS hasn't yet been installed.
I have tried Safe mode through Start windows Normally and what happens every time is that i get a windows Boot Manager and i have once Choice of Windows 7. I choose whindws 7 and then it takes me back to the windows failed to start with the 3 steps, but it adds something new to it.
1-3 steps here
If you do not have this disc, contact your sstem administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance
Status: 0xc0000225
Info: An unexpected error has occurred.
These are the only things that happen after it expands the windows files and restarts the computer. I have gone into my UEFI (bios) and made sure it is booting to the UEFI DVD drive and made sure it is booting to the UEFI windows boot manager too.

Well the fix was simple, but took some time to figure out. It ended up being an issue with what port my Hard Drive was installed on. For some reason on my motherboard if I plugged my HDD into the top SATA ports of ether SATA III 3Gb/s or the SATA III 6Gb/s it would not continue the instalation prossess after the first reboot. When I plugged it into the bottom SATA ports of ether SATA III 3Gb/s or the SATA III 6Gb/s it would continue the installation possess with no problem. FYI my top ports work for "normal" HDD use of data storage just not for windows installation for some reason. Might have to do with needing to update the BIOS/UEFI.
