Can't load Windows 7 OS by remote

I need to reload W7OS and since I'm brand new at all this I'm using Dell Concierge Service to help me.

Dell sent me the OS disc. The tech called and he took over my computer by remote, I put in the disc and nothing comes up. We waited a long time, and although we could hear it but couldn't see anything. Finally he decided there was something wrong with the disc and said he'd send me another.

About ½ hour after we had ended the session. I decided that I would try the disc again. I put it in, and sure enough it starts up. I didn’t wait to read anything so took it back out and decided to wait for him to call. When he called I told him I had gotten the old one to work.

He took over the computer again, I put the old disc back in, it came up to the first info window where you chose the disc etc. and I click enter and then from there on ---nothing. He did everything on his end that he could but no success---nothing was visible.

After that remote session ended, I tried it again, and sure enough it started,----I pulled it back out waited a bit, put it back in and it started again successfully. So in my mind there is something about his remote session and my trying to load and see the disc that’s not working.

Does anyone have any idea why it works when he's not on, but stops when he is and if there's anything we can do to correct this problem?

Thank you so much for any help you can offer,

    BarbB

Why do you need remote help to install the OS. That is a dead simple exercise. Just follow the prompts. If you get stick, we will help you.

OP's post seems wrong somehow. How would someone remotely install an OS in the first place?

I don't know much about most things, not even the things I think I know a lot about, but if memory serves every time I've installed Windows I've used some sort of Recovery Environment. Those generally aren't conducive to remote support, generally because there's no network drivers installed.

Were you unaware that the installation media needs to be booted and not run to Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

Are you using Dell Recovery disks for the single Dell Reinstallation DVD to get it cleanest without the corrupting bloatware?

Follow the steps in the blue link to get and keep a perfect install, including trying new media if the one you have doesn't cooperate from boot. Be sure to read the Special Note to Dell OWners at the end for considerations about partitioning and which to keep or delete during the booted install to get it cleanest.
