No permission to save to a file

First, I assume that this is a 'setup' problem. While moving some files from my thumb drive to folders on my 7 PC I was greeted with something like "you don't have permission to save to that folder". I am the admin and the only user of this computer and I want to be able to do whatever I want with my files. What is the solution for this and where do I do it?Thnx.

the easiest thing to do is disable UAC. but that is somewhat of a security risk

another thing to do is edit the security tab of a folder to give yourself access.

I'll give that try. How can I always sign on as Administrator?

the first account you created is an administrator. But UAC takes away some of your privileges until you "elevate".

I just don't like to be protected by something I paid for even if it might be in my best interest at some point.

    I'm not judging.

I've mentioned that you can disable UAC, which would give you back admin privileges.

Didn't mean to infer that you were. I really do appreciate your attention! But while you are reading this I'll add another question. In XP and Vista I made toolbars that resided along the right left and top margins and had them set to auto-hide, so my shortcuts were very easy to access, but out of the way when not needed. I've tried and failed to make them like that with 7. Am I missing something? Thanks

You are missing something. The feature. Because Microsoft removed it.
