    Is ESC also not working in dailog boxes? Normally the dialog will close then (as if you clicked CANCEL)?
    You did try other external usb keyboards?

    It's not a win7 problem! The ESC button and F8 don't work on the bootmenu as you told me. The bootmenu is processed BEFORE win7 loads.

    I have hp laptop and to enter setup need to press esc on startup, esc key is not working any where. Would disabling fast boot help?

    Does esc work in normal win7 mode?

    Boot from a win7 install dvd, or win7 system repair disc. Same problem?
    Or from a linux live CD... same problem?

    you can try to disable fast boot, but I don't see any relation to this problem.

    I am sorry but you are not getting my point, i want to reinstall win7 from usb but i am not able to get in to bios to change boot sequence and install it. So is there any other way to enter bios than esc key??

    It won't solve the problem! And I don't know any other way to enter the BIOS.

    Well thanks and i have done it by press and hold f10 key on startup and now doing a fresh install
