Cannot boot to Windows installation disc

I have a Win 7 installation disc that I burned from the downloaded iso, I've used it several times on other computers. But this HP laptop will not boot from it, after the boot selection screen I just get a blank screen.

I burned another copy from the iso, but same result.

I know the laptop can boot from an optical disc because I just today booted to a linux boot disc.

It is regular BIOS, not UEFI.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Are you just hitting the F12 or F10 when trying to boot the disc?

How about making the Optical Device as the priority Boot in the BIOS Setup
    ?

What is the ISO source? Link? Check the HASH to make sure it completed download and is a clean copy, from Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7

What tool did you use to burn to DVD?

Try writing to flash stick using UltaISO also provided in tutorial.

I don't think it is a problem with the disc, I've used it several times before on other machines. I can't remember for sure where i got it, it is legitimate, i think from Digital River maybe. Not sure what I burned the disc with, but I did make a new disk yesterday using Nero.

To boot the computer, I am hitting Esc to get to the boot menu, then choosing the optical drive. I know this is the correct process for this machine since I just booted to a Linux disk.

I can try checking the hash and also try a boot flash drive, I did not think of that.

And no, I am never seeing "press any key to boot from DVD", just a blank screen after selecting the optical drive in the boot menu.

    Thanks

I would never expect a Win7 DVD to boot if burned with Nero. You need an image burner. Use ImgBurn at 4x speed. Or write to flash stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive

Confirm the ISO HASH as anything could be possible if you're using Nero to burn image disks.

You really need to put the optical drive as the priority boot, configure it on the BIOS set-up.
