I've changed from Linux to Windows a couple of times and found it best to boot to a GPARTED CD first and wipe out all partitions on the HDD, give a truly clean start. Linux, Mac OS X and Windows all use differing formats.

I download the file from GParted -- A free application for graphically managing disk device partitions. Usually when a program or device is mentioned it works to just Google it.

I just checked the computer again and now instead of 23 percent complete - it says 100% complete. What do I do from this point?

It now states "DISKPART = LIST DISK A"

    Berton,
I am sorry to sound stupid but I don't understand how or why I need to check with a moderator. I am stuck at the point that Gregrocker got me to but I do not know what to do from here. It states that you made it solved; are you saying you did not mark it solved? If you did not, can you please assist me in contacting an administrator. I am new to any forums of any kind so i am not sure how this process works. However, my issue is not solved as I do not know what to do from here.
    Regards
