digital river no longer hosting isos.

Im looking for a 7 home premium x64 iso because the serial checker on msfts site is referring me to the manufacturer, who of course doesnt have the isos available for download.

Sadly it would be illegal and against for rules for somebody to post a link to a non-official source of the ISO in the thread

Please read about your options now in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

That tutorial will also help you get and keep a perfect install.

Glad to hear it. I was worried that the tutorial would become less useful when MS removed the ISO downloads, so I have fought hard to get them reinstated and am still waiting for a decision.

But meanwhile the tutorial's readership has jumped in a little over a month from 1.2 to 1.3 million so I guess it is still useful and may be even more so now! :)

Agree!! Im against the removal of the iso's personally. Im very glad that ive had to help a friend or 470 in the past which led me to obtaining several different versions of 7. I never worried about keeping a spare iso around of home premium because i always relied upon digitalriver for a clean source. This new little tidbit of knowledge will come in quite handy indeed!!! Im just gonna use a win 7 ult x64, snip that file out of it, and go from there. Very useful!! tyvm!

when did they take the iso server down btw?

They have taken them down before but we were always able to get them put back. Now they have replaced it with Microsoft Software Recovery which supposedly works with retail Product Keys though no one seems to be able to get it to work. So we are trying to get them to accept OEM Product Keys, too.

So, removing the file didnt work. It still installed as win 7 enterprise. I used enterprise because its what i had mounted to a thumb drive. Is that the issue?
