    WIN 7 x64 - Problem Recoveing/Installing after option's slection

    Hello

I have a toshiba with triple boot, Windows 7 professional x64, Ubuntu and Openelec.

The problem: Windows 7 crashed and needed to repair the startup, then it couldn't repair by it self asked for recovery disk.

With an all in one windows 7 32&64 tried to boot and do a repair, did'nt work. Nothing happens after the screen repair/install option and before the repair options. It shows the background and the mouse, that i can move around but no options.

Than i tried diferent usb pendrive. Same result.

Than tried a diferent image an windows 7 n x64, mounted in usb pen drive trough the windows 7 usb/dvd tool. Same result.

After that tried the instalation option, same result. It shows the backgound, and the mouse, that i can move. Says preparing the instalation, but dosen´t move out of that.

The pc works well under ubuntu, no problem, but i need the windows too.

    So wat can i do?

    Best regards

Everything is here that can be done for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.

I would try to make a System Repair Disk from another Win7 x64 PC, or it discusses how to obtain installation media in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

    Hello

I have read the links, and unfortunately there is nothing new that can help me.

I have a windows 7 installation disk in a usb pendrive that i boot.

I chose language and keyboard, on the next screen i choose repair and then nothing happen.

I have tried also to do a clean installation but the only thing that i get is the configuration is being initialized... i can't get to the installation types.

    That's the problem.

I cannot make a windows 7 x64 repair disk, i don't have another machine with it to make it, but to my knowledge an installation disk, should have done the trick.

This is really strange, were should the problem be?

    Hello

The problem was solved trough formatting windows and the 100mb partitions with gparted on Ubuntu, the other OS on the machine.

After that i had run the windows 7 installation disk and there was no problem. I could afford to do that because a had saved the files.

    Thanks
