    Downgrade to XP

is there any way I can downgrade over the internet back to windows xp professional.. I hate all versions of windows except for windows xp only.. and this new netbook has 7 starter.. I despise it since I cant save the themes.. I am going to try to manually open the files as a text and input the vectors appropriate to change the theme manually and give myself administrator security privledges.. but I hate having to do all this ****ing work.. but ohh well

Sure you can downgrade to XP. There are plenty of XP licenses for sale on the internet. Just make sure there are also XP drivers for your hardware.

Not being able to save a theme may be more a function of having the Starter version of Windows 7 than Windows 7 itself.

If you have a spare higher version of Win7 you can insert its Product Key into Windows Anytime Upgrade to unlock the extra features including Personalization.

There are third party tools to add themes to Starter, like How To Install Themes In Windows 7 Starter And Home Basic Editions.

A google search finds others as well for adding themes to Windows 7 starter - Google Search .

Using XP period is a bad idea. It is unsupported by MS. OP, why not just buy a copy of home premium OEM-can be had for $99 + tax. This will allow you to customise pretty much everything about the OS.
