Windows could not apply the unattend answer file's

I am getting this error when I am install Windows 7:
Windows could not format a partition on disk 0 - error code 0x80004005 during a new install of Windows 7. I have tried both Home Premium x64 and Enterprise x64. Both falling into the same error:

I've removed all partition using gparted, and created a single primary partition, but I keep getting that error.

    Here is what happens:
PC boots from it, then goes to this screen:
    install_step4.jpg (image)

After that, it just starts copying files:
    install_step10.jpg (image)

Which means it COMPLETELY skilled these steps:
    install_step5.jpg (image)
    install_step7.jpg (image)
    install_step8.jpg (image)
    install_step9.jpg (image)
Which means I can't select which disk or partition I want Windows 7 on.
After about 5 seconds, the error pops up:
Windows coupld not apply the unattend answer file's <DiskConfiguration> setting

Before I removed all partitions, I got this message during installation:
Windows could not format a partition on disk 0 - error code 0x80004005
I then reboot back onto gparted, and find that the installation has copied 100mb onto the single partition.
I've tried everything... I just tested installed XP, and that installed fine.
I've tried googling, but nothing has helped me thus far.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

    What is the installation media?
    Download ISO, burn to DVD?
    MS DVD?
    USB key?

    Upgrade or Full Retail version?

Are you choosing Upgrade or Custom when the install starts?

Did you mark the partition as Active?

You can try, delete the partition and install to the unallocated space.

Let us know how it's going.

It turns out I had to make the partition Active.

First I booted of the XP disc, then removed partitions, created a new one.
After the XP installer had formatted the partition, I manually shutdown the computer, then booted into Win7, and it actually let me pick what partitions to install it on!!

So then I found these guides:

Remove 100MB System Reserved Partition - installing Windows 7 - Persian Forums
Hack to Remove 100 MB System Reserved Partition When Installing Windows 7 My Digital Life

That taught me how to removed/add and make partitions active.

    Thanks for replying Dave!
