    TGC (?) windows 7 guide

Hello guys. I've just done a clean install of Windows 7 on a new hard drive. Last one died, sadly. Everything is messy as usual. I created this thread because I remember that there was a very helpful PDF guide that walked me through every basic Windows 7 setting and registry option (how to disable Aero, how to set these task bar icons, which automatically run windows programs are safe to disable and so on...). It even had some tips for BIOS.

I think the name of this guide started with TGC, TG or TCG. I don't seem to have it on my backups. Could someone help me find it. Google gives nothing

Alright, answering my own question for anyone curious: it's called TweakGuides Tweaking Companion (TGTC) by Koroush Ghazi

Why would you mangle an already featherlight OS with hacker tweaks like that? Don't mess with perfection

Over 1.3 million users have done the reinstall linked below without a single complaint or problem. They have the best performing Win7 one can have. You may instead have a crippled mess.

First off Windows 7 needs very little tweaking as we new and did with Windows XP.

I recommend the first things one does with Windows 7 is spend some time learning how to use it before tweaking it.

Here is a tutorial by Brink that will help Optimize Windows 7.

I don't believe any Windows 7 will need or desire all of the things done.

This guide is pretty decent and safe to use:
