    Format windows 7 bios config?.

    Hi.

I have a z77zud3h mother board. I have only 1 SSD stata 3 drive installed. I am wanting to install windows 7 again and just wanted to no how to set up this bios for one ssd. I am using latest bios f20

In bios features there are a couple of option.

    OS Type = Other
Boot mode selection = UEFI and Legacy
LAN PXE Boot option Rom= Disabled
Storage Boot option Control = Legacy Only
Other PCI Device ROM Priority = UEFI OpROM
    Net work stack = Disabled

    Under Peripherals

    SATA Controllers = Enabled
    SATA Mode selection = AHCI

    Under Marvell ATA Controller Configuration

    GSATA Controller = AHCI MODE
SATA PORT 0 = Not Present
SATA PORT 1 = Not Present

Do I need to change anything if I am only using one SSD for gaming and no 2nd Hard drive. Also why is GSATA set to ACHI and no ports present do I need to disable this?.

Any other settings I need to change just for one SSD install?.

    Thanks.

I use AHCI and Legacy boot settings in the BIOS. UEFI is important in Win8 and later. The computers I've installed Win7 on didn't list GSATA in the BIOS.

GSATA is short for Gigabyte SATA - usually JMicron SATA controller.

I'd enable UEFI storage boot option and boot the installation media as a UEFI device, to get full BIOS features.
