Partition on external hdd not accessible in windows 7
I have an external hard drive that has two partitions. I had the Windows 7 upgrade installation file from Digital River on the first partition. I ran the install from there and everything installed fine within XP. Then I went back to the external hard drive to get some other programs to install and it told me that the drive is not accessible. However it shows me both drive letters and I am able to read the other partition fine. It just will not see the first one. If I put the drive on another computer, it is able to see the drive and all the data.
So I am wondering if it locks you out of the partition from which you run the installation and if so, is there anyway to get access back to it?
I have already put XP back on the computer and I am going to try it a different way and then see if I have access to the first external hdd.
