    This is not uncommon, so I would not worry about it. You can always remove the Drive letter in Disk Mgmt. Drive Letter - Add, Change, or Remove in Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums

    if i remove the drive letter then when i plug in a card i won't see it until i assign a drive letter what i don't wan't i wan't windows should do it automatically as it was until the fresh install

    See if checking Hide empty drives in the Computer folder does want you want.
    The setting is in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options

    is and was on but doesn't help as i set to see hidden folders

    Then that is likely the problem, that you have Hidden folders shown. This is not a recommended setting.

    I played with this a bit and found

    When I log in with my Standard account, I don't see empty drives.
    When I log in with my Admin account, I do see empty drives.

    EDIT:
    In Tools / Folder Options uncheck Show all folders and see if that helps.

    i don't want to do that i want to see all hidden files i want that windows should not assign a drive letter as long there is no card in the slot (why doesn't windows assign drive letters as well for all the sata slots )

    When i uncheck Show all folders i can still see hidden files.
    I don't see my empty DVD drive listed in the Navigation pane.
    If I insert a disc, it gets displayed in the Navigation pane.
