A Partition Wizard Boot CD can be used on any machine.
It doesn`t do anything unless you tell it to, you are just going to use it to change the drive back to basic.
Then you`ll get back to us.

Before I go and delete the Recovery Partition I want to produce a disk image to be able to reinstall my system in case things go pear shaped. I want to use Redo BackUp & Restore - already have a boot disc for it and the process looks very easy. Does anyone have any experience with this product??

I've never heard of it. I see from your link that the current version is over 2 years old. Hmmm...............
Standard programs used by those on this forum would include Aomei Backupper, Macrium Reflect, Acronis, EaseUS Todo Backup, Paragon, and Windows Backup and Restore.
I'd use free Macrium Imaging which is easy and never fails. You can install it or use the boot disk.
Thanks guys. I ended up using Aomei Backupper and saved a disk image to an external hdd.
Never did delete the recovery partition. Too chicken. Maybe sometime in the future if I need the extra disk space.
