I'm not downloading it. I will be using the RC version soon. :)

And as for the leaks, i had build 7000 ageeeees before it was officially released, and guess what... SAME MD5, same file..

I personally don't think this version will be officially released, and if your happy with a month old build until RC then that is up to you :P

It clearly fixes some annoying bugs mainly the UAC gadget bug for me and is not about just "new paint" or "blue panel".

I have to agree, I finally got 7022 to install as an upgrade, Think my problem was something to do with either Norton 360 even though it was turned off and also possibly installing upgrade from DVD. When I dumped files to HDD and installed from there all went fine.
This version does seem a little better and even more stable.
At the end of the day the idea behind getting into beta versions of software is to 1/ get a version before everyone else, 2/ to learn something new, and 3/ to help the software developer release reliable software. So therefor surely the best way to go is install as many versions as possible onto said hardware. I am happy to try any version available, although I wouldn't go to all the trouble of re-installing for the sake of say 1 or 2 builds but 10+ builds and I would say you can only benefit.
When I beta tested Vista I think I must have installed dozens of versions and I don't regret any install really.
I think M$ should release more versions to testers to be honest. I don't think one beta and then one RC is enough to really get good feedback from users. Also makes us feel a little robbed.
I personally think Windows 7 is the best opperating system yet and that also includes OSX. I don't think there is an op. I have not tried and I really love this op.

Come on people stop worrying and install 7022 you will be fine.

I have to say, not really turned on to it either.... this is only beta update up from the official. Like earlier stated, downloading all updates/patches for 7000 install fixes mp3 issue off the top. I have only had minimal gadget "crashing", if you want to call it that, during shutdown, which i narrowed down the problem (same problem with norton360 gadget not closing). I have UAC enabled at high and dont have any problems what so ever.

Atleast with this build, feedback coming into MS will hopefully help and fix things. As if ppl even send feedback, coming from a 7022 build will of course raise eyebrows not too mention.

Lastly, paint and ie blue panel? I'm sure there are other things as well, but arent they "new"ish? so, probly buggish as well chances r? maybe this is why it was a wrapped beta and not released publicly (sarcasm). Unless big changes occur as to where things are at/located, or somekind of compatibility improvement, i dont see the use... I would suspect that MS will update fixes for the 7000 beta that are included with later betas. As why would they not want to test "new"ish things more broadly if they are to be included in a RC1 or a RTM for that matter.

As with whistler, not much changed from after the first 6 or so months of betas, and RC1 was just a dustup of the last few betas leading upto RTM. which i think had nothing visable unless running some newish hardware or involving drivers. with most fixes being off the wall drivers, a few printer problems, and some software companies not up to snuff with the OS. Basically the same type of scenario again here with win7 as far as i can see. I probably wasted half a spindle of cdrs with all the pre-beta, beta, rc1 ect.

I know longhorn had many stages thru the betas and so on, but come on now, that was a trainwreck of progress there... and we all know the rest of that story... I believe win7 is the rest of the story. what MS had in mind when creating Vista/longhorn, but of course got into the $$ hungry rush to release an eye-candy OS for 64bit.

From my experience, once a beta is "working", no need to upgrade unless it fixes an issue, usually hardware, that you have. Until then it will be *****ed and prodded, tweaked and geeked, but fundamentally the OS will not change itself from now ... being that its dubbed a public release and then a candidate

personally, my W7000 is running like a charm.... i wont be touching it for anything less than a major upgrade..

I also agree with the 7000 version is very stable my only problem is WMC playing Live TV has a sound/ video stuttering problem, and if i play with it for a while I probably will get it fixed, but I will be looking forward to the final release so as to get a version of it either free or buying from a supply house. For now it use send feedback and help make something that has a good base a better operating system for the consumer.

I'll prolly be keeping 7000 on my main machine, but install 7022 on my "test" machine. 7000 is pretty stable, and I'm quite happy with it. As a linux enthusiast, that's saying something. I may actually pay money for this operating system when it hits the shelves. 7022 does run the risk of having more bugs even though it's worked others out. As we know with source code, any time you change something, something else changes. I'll try it, but I won't rely on it for my main machine because it is a leak, and runs the risk of being questionable.

Im still shocked that many people still think this later build will be or is more buggy... sorry but im sure 99~% of the people saying this are the ones who have not downloaded or installed it...

Its better than 7000, fixes issues that i personally had with things like uac, and more besides, it has over a months worth of tweaks and some newer program versions.

Anyone who has 7000 and 7022 would be a fool to install 7000 over 7022, again im sure anyone using 7022 would not now go back to 7000.

As for the feedback thing, who cares if it raises eyebrowse, i can hardly see gates kicking my door off for downloading a leaked build and i may be wrong but im sure they will take the feedback just the same as if it was from 7000...

For people that like beta testing you all seem very scared, and lazy to install...??

I think that you might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. We are enjoying testing the official W7 Beta release (build 7000), but we are sceptical of the download sources of these other builds, particularly since many of these sources are torrents, some of which are based in Russia and China. Should Microsoft choose to release one of these builds through the official channels, then I'm sure that people will consider it.
