Vista Upgrade 32 Bit Gone Wrong
Today I just got a wonderful reminder of why I hate Vista. Okays so I am working with my dad's companies one desktop that he wanted upgraded from a Windows XP to something more modern. I had copies of Windows Vista and Windows 7 from dreamspark. I was going to take it from XP to Vista to 7 to do a nice easy upgrade in order to not have to do any kind of fresh reimage/backup.
Got the dell desktop to upgrade to Windows Vista with no issue at all. I rebooted and on the reboot the computer no longer works on regular mode after the windows screen the monitor simply goes blank... -_-.
I figured I had a driver that was incompatible or had gone bad. So I try safe mode and it's fine as well as with networking or network connection. I read a bit and find some people with a similar problem to perform a clean boot. So I follow these instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135. Unfortunately it did not work and temporarily completely disabled my keyboard. I have fixed this problem through Google.
My main problem is still on a normal boot mode, the monitor will go blank shortly after the windows logo loads. On a safe mode boot, this will not occur. I've checked the device manager on safe mode and there are no errors. What is everyone's advise?
