Migrating SSD in a split system

    Hello,
I'm wanting to upgrade my SSD. I have a custom built PC with a Samsung 830 128gb ssd with Win7 Pro and some other programson it. Then I have a WD Black 1tb drive that some other programs are installed to along with music, videos, etc. I'm going to upgrade the OS drive to a Samsung EVO 500gb drive and would like to image the current OS drive to it. The one thing I'm worried about is whether the pathways to the programs on the HDD will work afterwards.
Should this work ok or am I asking for trouble?

There is never any sense to installing programs to a separate slower hard drive where they cannot benefit from the SSD speed.

You can try cloning to see if the links maintain to the hard drive, however if not you're better off installing them to C anyway since programs should always be kept with the OS which they integrate into until uninstalled.

Yes it would be best. I'm just being lazy and trying to avoid a full reinstall of OS, programs and then doing the 500 updates that will follow.
    Thank you
