    Replacing w8.1 with w7 home premium 64bits

After 7 months of frustration with w8.1 on a new laptop , i am considering removing 8.1 and replacing it with 7 64bits . I tried last night and achieved nothing . Is it a good or bad idea and how should i go about it ?
The disc went in . I followed the instructions but it seems the puter is not interested in "downgrading" to 7 .
Any opinion , guidance and suggestion GREATLY appreciated . The one finger typist.

Did disable secure boot in the bios ?

Could you please post a shot of Disk Management from Windows 8.1 before you go any further ?

Curious, what is frustrating about Windows 8.1? I have 8.1 Pro X64 on my Desktop and using Start8 from Stardock, it looks and feels like Windows 7 but is faster.

Windows 7 is a great OS but so is Windows 8.1 once you tame it :)

If you'd like to try to make it do what you want continue here or post in the Windows 8 forum: General Support - Windows 8 Forums

I don't use any of the Modern stuff, start screen or Apps. I work only from the Desktop.
