Win 7 Clean install with XP Upgrade Version

    Hi all

First time poster, so apologies if this has been posted before.

I upgraded from XP to Win 7 64 bit a few years ago, using the upgrade version of Win 7 and performed a clean install at the time.

Unfortunately my c drive has just failed so my intention is to replace it with a ssd drive and reinstall Win 7.

Can I do this with the current upgrade version of Win 7 that I have or will I have to install a 'full' version of it?

    Thanks for your help

    Nick

Proceed with a Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

It may reject the Product Key during install because no other OS is seen on the drive. If that happens just leave it blank and finish the install. Afterwards use the quick Option 3 workaround in Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version provided by MS to activate Upgrade version on a new or cleaned hard drive.
