riojanitoperez;

¡Saludos!

I've just bought the OEM package of Windows Vista to Windows 7 update, so they gave me Windows Vista first and after 2 months they sent me Windows 7, so now I've both packages at home but I still haven't installed any of them. My question is if I can install Windows Vista in a computer or partition and Windows 7 in other one (It's the Windows 7 that I also have and didn't installed yet), no more than that.
For short, I want to know if I can install both operating systems independently in 2 different computers, my sister's one and mine. I'm a legal person who respects and my intentions are just to ask because this is the proper forum to fo that. In case that I couldn't install other OS than Windows 7 so, why I want to have both packages??
Regards and thanks.
And sorry about the misunderstanding because of the different languages we speak.
ENGLISH: Sorry again for coming back so late but I'm suffering "problems with my time". Although that, I hope this can help you to understand and communicate. I'll come back soon!

GatoSoft;

Awesomely helpful! Thank you so much!

riojanitoperez;

The simple answer is no. Microsoft wanted Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to sell Vista before Win 7 was available. To help them sell, Microsoft promised some they could have a copy of Win 7, when it was available, to upgrade or replace the Vista they bought. OEM is not the same as RETAIL. OEM software can only be used on the new computer it is first installed on. Sorry to disappoint you.

To install the Win 7 upgrade, you will have to install the Vista first. Then from Vista, start the Win 7 upgrade.

¡Suerte! ^_^

PD: A propósito... ¿sos de La Rioja, Argentina? :3

Riojanito Perez, the other members of this forum are telling you that you can try to install Windows 7 without installing Windows Vista before and then update. I mean, you can try doing a clean install. In the worst case setup will tell you that it's not possible and... well, there is when you have to choose the "Plan B". xD
Good luck! ^_^

PS: By the way... you're from La Rioja, Argentina? :3
