Upgrade to W10 without update app?

Will I be able to upgrade a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10 for free without getting the 'reserve a copy of Windows 10' app to run?

I would like to do the upgrade by downloading a W10 RTM ISO or by creating an ISO from an ESD file generated by upgrading another PC.

Hi,
You can upgrade by running the current iso setup.exe by using 7zip to open the iso file,
Download the iso and save it to a flash drive and reuse it on any qualifying os
Download Windows 10 Insider Preview ISO - Microsoft Windows

So you really don't have to wait
Although I would create a reliable system image in case you change your mind not to mention back up your personal files in case a problem arises

In this case, I want the RTM version not the insider version.

Then you'll have to wait for it

Yes, the ISOs will be made available.

The windows updates 10 app will deliver a esd not a iso that will probably be available eventually but the update system will come first to a select set of insider program users = Fast ring.

Not everyone that reserved a 10 upgrade will receive it on the July 29th.

Windows Update trying to upgrade to Win10 by itself?
