How do i Install windows 7 with full format of the drive

    Hello,
I am using windows 7 ultimate x32. Recently i got some issues regarding my HP All in one laserjet. For the same i had to format my drive and reinstall windows (as suggested by HP people). The problem is still the same. When contacted HP people they said my windows did not format the drive completely.

Did some searching on google to find out that the win7 installation disk does a quick format of the drive and may leave data behind. I have a HDD with 5 partitions and many files on it. I am unable to take a backup of complete HDD as i dont hv an extra HDD or even an external one.

Please suggest me how to format the drive C: so that nothing is left behind. Is it advisable to delete partition C while installing win7? will it really erase everything on Drive C:?

You do not have to do anything extra to your C partition, a quick format is fine.

The HP people have no idea what they`re talking about, you do not have to re install windows to install a printer.

It is difficult to imagine a situation where a full format would be needed and nothing about you problem would suggest this. Normally this would only be done as a security measure.

I would seriously consider obtaining an external drive for backup purposes. All files of any importance should have at least one backup copy while those of particular importance need 2 or more backup copies. Fail to do this and sooner or later you WILL loose important files.
