Can't delete old Win 8 partition after installation Windows 10
Hi forum,
I've bought a new SSD disk and decided to install Windows 10 instead of cloning my old Windows 8 installation. I felt like I needed a fresh install anyway. I didn't delete my old Windows 8 installation at that moment, because I wanted to transfer the files directly between the two instead of having to backup the files beforehand.
The installation went succesful and I've transferred all necessary data now but apparantly it was a mistake not deleting my old Windows 8 installation before installating Windows 10.
For some reason I cannot delete the partition with my Windows 8 installation even when booted to Windows 10, and whats even worse is that Windows 10 cannot boot at all unless the HDD with Windows 8 is plugged in.
If I unplug the HDD with Windows 8 I get this error: http://www.vercot.com/~serva/an/Imgs...s1_BCD_err.png
"The boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors".
So it would seem that somehow the files necessary to properly boot my new Windows 10 installation has been placed on my old HDD?
Any ideas on how to fix this issue besides doing another clean installation from scratch?
Kind regards,
Brian
