Press f2 while booting to get into the bios and disable fast boot till installed, and set sata under advanced to ahci or compatible and not RAID if it is an option.

You need to set the sata controller in the bios to ide or legacy, not ahci. XP doesn't have drivers for the sata controller and that will cause a bsod during install.

Why would you want to do this? It may be tough to find drivers that will work with XP.
You would be better off to stay with 7 or 8.1 and run XP as a virtual client under Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare.

Maybe because his X553M is like my X551M in that it can't handle Windows 8 with more then two or three programs running, mine has only an Intel Celleron N2830 2.16G with only 4GB and it slows to a crawl after having more then 3 programs open. This is clearly not what Windows 8 was intended to do, and I will not put 10 on there as a result. This thing can barely handle 8, so I may roll it back to 7 or XP depending on what I can do
