Increased partition size, computer doesn't boot.

Asus q5501l, installed a 120gig sad as the main operating system. I tried to download Windows 10 and kept on getting a USB error message so I researched it and found something about increasing the partitions incentives ssds tend to small partitions or something of thst nature, so I did that and now it won't boot.

I want to reinstall my old hard drive and install Windows 10 but if I wanted to try to restore my ssd on the main partition how do indo that?

You would remove the old hard drive, install the SSD, and then use your install media to install Windows onto the SSD.

No the ssd won't run I think the partition is bad, in trying to fix the partition UT I don't understand the terms. Should I just install the old drive and start the reinstall?

You can delete partitions from the SSD and attempt to reinstall just as you would on the old drive.

It's possible but highly unlikely that the SSD is broken.

Do you have a legal Windows 7 installation disk? If you do, disconnect all drives except the SSD, boot from the installation disk, delete ALL partitions on the SSD, and see if the install works.

    What terms don't you understand?

If I had an SSD, I'd certainly try to use it rather than the old hard drive, but I don't understand your explanation very well.

My old drove is a 750 gig drive but it's slow, the ssd is a 120 bit drive.

    That's A.

B is the computer is from a computer called buydig, the computer came with a pre-installed windows 8 os, doesn't come with a installation disk. I'm going to attempt to get a legal copy and see if the installation key would work.

I tried to run the repair windows disk and it doesn't fix the boot problems.

You can download a Windows 8.1 ISo and install that, no need to go back to Windows 8.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 ISO - Download or Create

When you install to the SSD, make sure you delete and y and all partitions so it's one onallocated drive then click Next to let the installer create the partitions it needs.
