Thanks ThrashZone, I was afraid my issues might throw even old timers a curve...that's why I started a new thread...didn't think anyone would have these particular issues and circumstances, or at least be wiling to air them in a public forum. Looking forward anyway to any help your site expert has to offer. Thanks again.

Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM)/Win10

I'm not certain whether or not Volume Licenses qualify for the upgrade - but since this is a KMS license that hasn't yet been activated that's irrelevant anyhow. It would have to be activated before it could be considered for the upgrade.

The machine itself was built in 2007 - so cannot have a qualifying COA sticker/license unless there is a legitimate Upgrade installed already.

As far as activating the KMS license is concerned, you'd have to contact the System Admin at whoever issued you the license for assistance, since you'd have to connect to their servers at least every 180 days to re-activate the install.
