Windows 10 won't let me revert back to Windows 7 despite still having

    Hello.

I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from a legit, activated Windows 7 Pro using Windows Update. It has been refusing to get activated for the last couple days. I think it might be due to the congestion in the MS activation server or whatever they call it.

Today I decided to revert back Windows 7 Pro, but the option in the settings to do that is telling me that the files necessary for this procedure were removed... Windows.old folder is right there where it should be and I haven't touched it at all, but it refuses to find it.

    1) Is there any workaround for me to convince the stupid Windows 10 that I still have the complete Windows.old folder?
    2) If I make a bootable flash drive with a Windows 7 system repair disc .iso, can I use it to return to Windows 7 with the system image I backed up on an external HDD before I upgraded to Windows 10?

Thanks but I don't think it can help me now. I have already upgraded to 10.

Ah, my bad. I didn't realize it had to be installed before the upgrade, sorry. I was under the impression it worked with Windows.old after a Win 10 upgrade.

I fixed the link. I know it was good originally, is someone here (a MOD) changing it and if so why?
