Clean installation problems (Black screen)

Hey, as i've been reading through some threads at this forum to solve my problem i can see that you guys really know your thing here. So i'm giving this a shot since i havn't got windows 7 to work.

So i'm trying to do a clean install of windows 7 (x36) from XP that im currently running. i've burnt the iso down on a dvd and it boots fine and the installation runs normally. I'm getting through all the steps within the installation when it at last says something about that it's done and it's going to restart for the first use of windows 7. Now i'm getting my problem.

The computer starts up and goes through the memory testing and such but just as it's about to start windows 7 i'm getting a black screen and my monitor says "No signal - blabla" and 3 seconds later it restarts itself. If i don't do anything now my computer loops this restarting on and on...

So i've tried to install it with removing my two 512mb RAMS and only have two 1gb of the same brand. Didn't help.

So does anyone have any suggestions or help?

I assume the message is "no video signal" or something like that?

Do you have both onboard video and a separate video card?

If you have both, try switching your monitor to the other one.

Can you get into the BIOS (probably with F2 or delete key early in the boot process)?

If you have both onboard and separate video, you might need to get into the BIOS and choose the correct video source.

Is your video cable snugly fitted?

Thanks for the fast reply ignatzatsonic.

My monitor works perfect with xp and the installing process of windows 7 and it's not loose at all, so i guess that's ok.

I can get into the BIOS with 'del' key, but havn't really found anything for a onboard video card. So im not sure.
This is my motherboard:
MSI P965 NEO-F SKT-775 DDR2 GBLAN PCI-E ATX.

I somehow have a VGA male plug on my board though(?) but i can't fit my monitor VGA cable in it since thats a male aswell

I'm using a VGA to DVI adapter to fit the monitor into my graphics card ftm.

Many times a looping problem is caused by an improper setting in BIOS. There are two ways to boot, either from your OS or from the Win7 DVD. Lets assume you chose to boot from your OS (you boot up and then install the DVD), you may want to check BIOS (really easy). Remove the DVD boot up your computer when it just begins to boot repeatedly, but evenly, hit f12. You will see the boot screen. Go to boot options or something similar. Make sure it is set correctly. If you boot from your OS, make sure it is set for that, if you boot from the DVD make sure it is set for that. Save then exit.
Try to install now.

To boot from the DVD you insert the DVD and the computer will begin to boot up
f12 is for dell and a lot of others, if f12 does not work try f2 f8 is the windows command. There may be a boot setting there too..

I do not know how you boot just make sure it is set correctly

According to your system specs you have a Sapphire video card. This is almost certainly a separate card occupying a slot on your motherboard.

You may or may not also have onboard video. I can't easily find any info on your motherboard.

Look on the back of your PC.

Do you see more than one port where it looks like you may be able to connect a monitor? That port may be blue and may have 15 little holes? If so, plug your monitor into that port and try again.

Are you installing the motherboard drivers, and do you have the latest bios update.
You can check at:
MSI Europe ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

Normally you don't have to install motherboard drivers but they might help.

I've tried to boot both from harddrive and from my cd reader. if i boot from the cd i just get into the installation progress again where i can repair my excisting windows 7 installation or install it again clean. Harddrive boot is the one thats keep restarting my pc.

on the back of my pc i have a vga port, but it's the wrong one, this is a male port where i only can plug in female VGA cable. but my VGA cable from the monitor is a male. You see what i mean?

Yeah, I see what you mean. Odd that your PC should have male ports and require a female connector on the cable.

If you have only one set of plausible video inputs on the back of your PC, that would imply that you do NOT have onboard video.

I would get into the BIOS and root around for anything that you think might even remotely apply.

You siad you burnt the installation disk. Where did you get the iso? Did you check it was good? How did you burn and at what speed?
