What model do you have, and what kind/size of storage does it use?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums
Linux is sort of tough for windows to do anything with on a hdd :/
You almost need Linux to clean a disk with Linux on it

Windows has no clue Linux exists on the disk
So the most straight forward thing to do is replace the hdd
With a laptop I would suggest jumping to a ssd instead of a hdd you will get a lot more performance out of the older machine.

Many 250-256gb ssd's are on sell now
most are running between 80.-100.us quite a good price for the performace you'll get out of it :)

What exactly means "I am not able to"? What are you doing? Are you getting an error?

If you don't want to preserve Linux and only keep a new Windows, just boot from the installation CD and delete all existing partitions. Windows will possibly see them as "unknown type" but deleting them should be straighforward. Creating the Windows partition and installing there would also overwrite the boot sector, getting rid of Grub too.

A different history would be if you want to dual-boot with the existing install and a new Windows one.
