Did you add a label to it ?
You also said it was 100gb not 588... gb's done using command prompt ?

What ever use the surface test using mini tool free.

After which if no bad sectors are found and yes it will take for ever to scan that much space :)

Dell must of sent you a lemon install disk
Contact them and confirm if you can send it back for a refund... and go to Amazon and buy that one I posted #41 reply.

It's either that or the disk burner has crapped out

Yes just point to that drive it will obviously be detected as windows 7 :/
Run the surface test on it first since that is the portion 7 will be installed on,

But again the issue seems to me either the disk burner has gone sound or the install disk is crap
I would lean to the install disk is crap.
Burners are pretty freaking basic stuff that hardly ever go out as long as you didn't mess with any of the connections to it
Which you should double check to make sure they're secured well and haven't came out a little.

Take a picture of the disk they sent you provided the activation key is not stamped on the face of it.
