"Dual boot", kind of....
Hello,
I have been using OpenSUSE 13.2 as my main OS for over a year now and I think I can ever switch back from linux to windows.
However, some software used in my lab only supports Windows. I have chose windows 7 Pro which comes with my laptops to do this. I have considered dual boot in conventional methods, and I dislike it.
Recently I've destroyed my work laptop and surviving component was my 120GB SSD, the laptop was replaced with another laptop and it came with a 128SSD which I had the "pleasure" of re-installing.
My new laptop is Lenovo T420. It can take a second drive through its optical drive section which is on its way from amazon.ca now. In the mean while here's what I'm doing. For ease I will call 120 SSD as Kingston, and 128 SSD as Samsung
1.I took out Samsung from its main HDD section
2.I inserted Kingston to the main HDD section of laptop
3.I've successfully installed W7Pro and everything I need for it.
4.I took out Kingston and inserted Samsung and everything works perfectly, with OpenSUSE 13.2.
5.I tried to link Kingston to USB connector and tried to boot from it -> Error, It seems that its directory for "C: drive" has been fixed and I am afraid that this may happen when Kingston is secured on its caddy and inserted somewhere else than the main HDD compartment.
The idea is that I have OpenSUSE turning on without interruptions or GRUB being disrupted at all on my Samsung, but I have the option to interrupt boot and choose to boot from Kingston and have Windows running.
Any suggestions how to proceed from here? I basically want to tell the Kingston drive to look for "this connector, and call it the C: path"
