Can't acquire a Windows Seven Ultimate.

My old computer has been somewhat rendered unusable and I am in the process of getting a whole new pc.

I usually shop at PC Specialist for all my PC needs but I have encountered a small problem.

PC specialist no longer sells the ultimate edition of any of the Windows OSs; and I am in need of a windows seven ultimate os.

I took a search on ebay and amazon and I have concluded there are a lot of shady sales for this product.

I was wondering if there was a legit way to buy a retail version of windows seven ultimate?

(Side note, my last licence was an oem, so it can't be used on my new pc)

    Have fun and you're welcome.
Those links are dead. MS took down those servers in February 2015.

There are lots of places to buy keys online. Most are not legit. They can work and still be counterfeit.

    Ta Da!

Microsoft finally offers Windows 7 ISO downloads

Fixing problems with Windows or doing a simple reinstall became a real annoyance when you had to use the install DVD, especially if your machine came without one. Luckily, Microsoft is finally offering Windows 7 ISOs for download.

Many users have probably ran into a problem with Windows at some point and decided that a clean reinstall would fix everything neatly. Unfortunately having to deal with DVDs is always a pain: you either don’t have the disc, or your machine doesn’t have a DVD player, or the disc is so old and scratched that it's barely usable anymore.

Until now, there wasn’t an easy solution to this, especially as many OEMs don’t pass along install and recovery media like they should. But luckily, Microsoft has finally decided to offer a simple way of downloading Windows 7 straight from their site.

Obviously this isn’t a free version, as you’ll need your license key to authenticate the copy. And if your device came with an OEM volume license you might be completely out of luck. Still for those of you out there who have access to their license, this is a great way to legally download a Windows 7 ISO.

All users need to do is head over to Microsoft’s website,

    Software Download

type in their product key and select which product language you need.

Unless you need Bitlocker, you can still get legitimate OEM copies of Win 7 Pro which pretty much has all the features of Ulimate. You are not going to find a legitimate copy of Ultimate unless you really luck out and find an individual who has one for sale (and determining if it is legitimate will be a crap shoot at best) and no one beats you to it. I wouldn't hold my breath, though. I have an unused retail copy of Ultimate and you wouldn't be able to afford to buy it from me; the same is most likely to be true for anyone else who may have one.

The only place I would trust to sell a legitimate copy of W7 Pro is Newegg. Even Amazon can't be trusted since they often replenish their own stocks from their Marketplace vendors which may or may not be trustworthy. I've seen people complain about getting counterfeit copies even though they came directly from Amazon. eBay is the last place I would buy software from.

I did that and MS said it was an OEM install so they refused to allow the download.
This will only work if it was a retail purchase.

That said, I was stuck, so I found win7 home premium at softonic and it activated. Where you can get ultimate would be a torrent site. I have a post here on the install and setup forum that shows this. This is getting super ridiculous, you have a legitimate win7 installed with a legitimate COA key number and all of that, and can not get it from MS, and have to go thru huge efforts to reinstall a clean os.

That`s great, but what does that have to do with the OP ?

He asked for help finding a retail Windows 7 Ultimate.

I agree with Jean, there is no reason to get Ultimate, just get a copy of OEM Pro if you need the dsic AND KEY from a retailer like Newegg.

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - Operating Systems - Newegg.com

You can easily google Windows 7 Ultimate Retail and come up with 20 hits, is it worth it ?

I say no way, it`s too risky and Ultimate is not needed.

I believe all versions of Windows 7 have all versions of Windows 7 on the DVD (how do you like that logic :) ).

You can make a universal DVD for 32 or 64 bit using the EI_cfg removal tool.

That is true, but the OP needs a disc AND a KEY.
