Ok, so starting the first Windows 7 screwed it up AGAIN. Now I'm back to the DMI message. What the hell!!!!

    Edit-

I'm going to fix this once and for all! Installing Windows 7 AGAIN onto my main partition (the corrupted one) And hopefully then both versions of Windows 7 will work, at which point I can delete one of them and be left with just one version...... hopefully.........

So I installed it again, I think the problem here is that I'm installing over VISTA (or any previous OS), and it's causing some sort of confusion? I have no idea. However, I reformatted my spare partition again, and now reinstalling windows 7 on that. When I'm done, I will transfer any files I need over and then format my main drive (which will then become the secondary partition).

any idea what's causing this verifying DMI pool data (from the installation)?

So, following the advice of a friend, I formatted the whole computer, partitioned into 100GB (for OS) and 365 GB (doc/vid/pic) setup was smooth, everything was fine until the last restart, where it got me stuck at the same message "verifying dmi pool data..."
So now I'm trying to do a BIOS reset (taking out battery and stuff)

what else could be causing this problem?

Ok I finally have the solution to my problems.
I finally understood that the verifying DMI pool data... was just a problem w/ my hard drive (i had disconnected it and it got by the verifying dmi)
with a lot of tinkering around with the install, i finally decided that my hard drive has some sort of problem in the beginning of the HDD.
So my solution to this was to create the 365 GB (personal files) first, then the 100 GB (OS) second
everything went well, and windows 7 is fully installed on my computer now.

    - my case is closed -
